EMC/EMI Engineer
The primary function for this position is: to perform compliance testing (Emissions, Immunity, Telecom, and Environmental) on cutting edge electronic products per national (FCC, US Safety) and international (CE, VCCI, EN/ETSI/CISPR, Industry Canada, etc.) standards, organize and write final test reports, and make filings with appropriate agencies.
Other duties and responsibilities will include:
- Develop and evaluate test plans and specify required instrumentation.
- Understand, interpret and tailor EMI/EMC specs and test methods
- Coordinate all activities and technician resources in support of project test plans, and to ensure deadlines are met and kept.
- Lead a team as well as work independently when needed.
- Analyze test data for determination of validity and product compliance to specifications.
- Review and evaluate technical EMI/EMC/Telecom requirements from customer and provide formal documentation of clients’ product design issues & specification non-conformances along with subsequent corrective action to be taken; Provide feedback to clients on test activities, open issues and project schedule.
- Design and implement optimal system level EMC compliance solutions.
- Sustain working knowledge of regulatory standards. Motivate and train others in the field of EMC and Radio approvals.
- Mitigate failures by using EMI design concepts, PCB layout techniques and grounding/shielding
- Interface with client engineers in a team environment.
The requirements for this position include:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/electronics or related fields. Minimum 3-5 years experience in related position. Must have working knowledge of applicable regulatory standards for EMC compliance including both emission and immunity and have ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and / or governmental regulations. Possess the ability to present information concisely and effectively and to respond to questions from authorities and clients. Application handling for FCC and IC is a must.
Must be able to manages projects from the technical meeting stage through to certification Familiarity with EMI design concepts, PCB layout techniques and grounding/shielding implementation practices are pluses. Good problem solving skills that produce workable solutions. Proficiency with MS Office. Must have good written and oral communications skills and be proficient in preparation of formal test procedures and reports. Self-motivated, self-managed, team-oriented, proactive, attentive to detail, task oriented, and able to overcome obstacles to meet schedule requirements.
The projects may require some physical demands as some tests are performed outdoor in wide temperature range, and occasionally, lifting and moving test items up to 50 pounds may be required.
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency status is required.

EMC / EMI /Telecom / Product Safety Technician
This position is for technicians to perform compliance testing on cutting edge electronic products per national (FCC, US Safety) and international (CE, VCCI, ETSI, Industry Canada, etc.) standards, and will prepare test reports.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review and evaluate technical EMI/EMC/Telecom/Safety requirements from customer.
- Perform Emissions, Immunity, Telecom, and Environmental testing per national and international standards.
- Understand, interpret and tailor EMI/EMC/Telecom specs and test methods.
- Mitigate failures by using EMI design concepts, PCB layout techniques and grounding/shielding
- Interface with client engineers in a team environment.
- Prepare and write test Reports.
- Other duties that may be assigned.
Requirements:
Associate’s degree in Electrical/electronics, and one year related experience.
Have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and / or governmental regulations. Ability to write EMI/EMC/Telecom technical reports (using MS Word) that are submitted to cognizant authorities and clients. Possess the ability to present information concisely and effectively and to respond to questions from authorities and clients.
Familiarity with EMI design concepts, PCB layout techniques and grounding/shielding implementation practices are pluses.
