EMC Testing to Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Requirements

U.S. Technologies is certified to perform EMC testing to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations through the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP). FCC Part 15

The Code of Federal Regulations, Title 47 (47 CFR), Part 15 covers the rules for the operation of unintentional, intentional or incidental radiators. Any electrical or electronic devices incorporating a digital circuitry and operating with an oscillator or clock speed of greater than 9kHz requires approval to this rule. There are various types of FCC Part 15 approvals, pending on the nature of the product and its intended use.

• FCC Part 15 Class A Verification for industrial and commercial applications.
• FCC Part 15 Class B Verification for residential applications excluding personal computers and peripherals.
• FCC Part 15 Certification for intentional radiators, transmitters and transceivers.
• FCC Part 15 Declaration of Conformity (DoC) for personal computers, their peripherals, desktop cable boxes as well as for low power unlicensed transmitters. Our NVLAP accreditation provides the basis to perform such approval.

FCC Part 18

FCC Part 18 applies to industrial, scientific, medical, and domestic products that generate RF energy to perform work. Examples of products requiring FCC Part 18 approval are microwave ovens, ultrasonic humidifiers and RF lighting devices.

FCC Part 22

FCC Part 95 includes devices such as Citizens Band (CB) transmitters, radio-controlled (R/C) toys, and devices for utilization under the family radio service.
